Songshan Lake Box Art Museum is located in ULAND-Songshan Lake Culture and Art Neighborhood in Yulanli, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province. The construction of the neighborhood is aimed at promoting the connection of local culture and art, introducing rich art resources through the in-depth fusion of culture, art and science and technology, breaking down barriers of the industry, and stimulating unlimited potential for innovation. At the same time, this landmark area will be fully open to the public, providing diverse cultural experiences.
The Museum of Fine Arts is an important part of the culture and art block, covering an area of about 2,142 square meters, it is building A2, and together with the other four buildings in the block, it forms a whole. When viewed from above, the five buildings shaped like sailboats form an elegant arc-like layout, creating a semi-enclosed space that gathers toward the center, keeping the space open while providing a good sense of privacy and domain.

The Museum of Fine Arts was meticulously remodeled and upgraded while preserving the integrity and design intent of the original building. The use of richly textured ceramic panels on the exterior walls enhances the visual effect of the building and ensures its durability. The atrium area is equipped with a large number of high-transparency glass panels, allowing natural light to penetrate fully into the interior, bringing brightness and transparency to the museum's interior space, and enhancing the visual connection between the interior and exterior.
The spatial design of the museum takes into full consideration its functional needs as an art exhibition space. The original space on the first and second floors was reintegrated into a more spacious and higher-height exhibition hall on the first floor, which is an ideal place for organizing all kinds of professional art exhibitions. The second floor has been transformed into a multi-functional area combining a stepped lecture hall and two exhibition halls, where exhibitions of resident artists, academic lectures, art salons, small-scale concerts or theater performances can be held. The rich possibilities of the exhibition space can provide a more diversified cultural experience for the audience.
In terms of spatial dynamic design, priority is given to the audience's viewing experience, with an elevator hall at the lakeside entrance and a special rotating staircase, forming a smooth and rhythmic viewing path from the first floor to the top floor. This path not only guides the audience to go deeper into the interior space of the museum, but also aims to let the audience gradually enter the art space created by the Box Art Museum in the process of climbing, and feel the unique charm brought by art.

Songshan Lake Box Art Museum entrusts the operation and management to the planning group of the Oil Painting Department of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, which employs Fan Bo as the director, Liu Ke as the executive director, Zhou Li as the artistic director, Deng Jun as the deputy director, and Ji Ran as the academic deputy director.
